Support Workouts

This is a new feature where we create unique workouts not found in the standard PC Coach program and allow you to download them and add them to your folder of workouts.

April 25, 2003: New workouts we have created are: 10k Race, 5k Race, Basketball Game, Cross Training, Hiking Workout, Marathon Race, Mountain Bike.

The running races (5k, 10k, Marathon) will download split information from your Polar HRM if you press the lap (red) button at each mile marker of the race. Click on the details (magnifying glass) icon to see these details. If you have a sportswatch or other HRM that stores your splits, you can enter them manually by clicking on the details button and typing them in. If you enter your data manually, be sure to check the "mark as complete" box to mark workout as completed.

Click here to download the workouts.rcs file. You can save it to your desktop if you like. After you have downloaded it, double click on the file and 7 new, exciting workouts will be loaded onto your PC Coach calendar. (Note: before you double click on the workouts.rcs file, be sure you have upgraded to PC Coach Elite version 3.7.). If you click on the workouts.rcs file and you get an error message, click here for more instructions.

You will notice these workouts we have sent you already have data in them. This is just sample data. You may delete these workouts from your calendar at any time. The important thing to note is that the workout definitions are now loaded into your personal folder. So, next time you double click on a day to schedule a new workout, you will have 7 new workouts you can use to schedule or log workouts. (You can also use these workouts when you have downloaded HRM data and want to attach it to a specific workout.) The above screen capture shows the new workouts located in personal folder.

Have you created a unique workout? If you would like to share a special workout with other PC Coach users, schedule the workout on your calendar, create an .rcs file for that day, and email it to workouts@pccoach.com.

We will add new workouts to this page weekly. You may also email us requests of which workout types you would like to see added to PC Coach.

In case you have trouble executing the file...

Normally, if PC Coach is installed on your machine, your operating system will know what to do with an .rcs file (open PC Coach). But if it gives you an error message like "it doesn’t know what program to use to open the file" then you will need to do the following. Click on the link above to download the workouts.rcs file again, but this time, select ‘save to disk’. Save the file in the PC Coach directory, in your user folder, in the INBOX folder.

Now start PC Coach. When the program starts, you will receive a message that something is in your inbox. Select "import now" and the workouts will be read in and appear on your calendar.
