  6. If the input level indicator in PC Coach (vertical black bar with min and max values) shows too low an input, use PC Coach to raise the microphone amplification. show me how

  7. Try a new microphone. Head-set microphones and microphones built in to computer monitors tend to present problems for SonicLink users. We recommend one of the follwing microphones: Koss M/6 or Jensen JMP-12.

  8. Obtain the latest sound card driver from your sound card manufacturer's or Microsoft's Web site. For Windows 2000 and Widnows ME users, SonicLink data- transfer may not function without the latest drivers. Click here for a list of popular sound card manufacturers and links to their driver update pages.

  9. Windows 2000 users, you must download and install the latest service pack from Microsoft's Web site.

  10. If you are on a laptop computer there may be special concerns. Laptop users should disable all PCMCIA cards, which can interfere with SonicLink transmission. Additionally, laptop users may want to experiment with the type of microphone they are using - if you don't have success with an external microphone, try the one built in to the laptop.
