| QUESTION: |
I have backed up my data onto a
CDR or CD-Rom, but since reinstalling it I can't see my
data OR I receive a 'Data Base Missing' error when I try
to open a workout.
|
| ANSWER: |
Your data has probably been
converted to 'read-only' files. To turn the read-only
attribute off you must go to every sub-directory of your
user folder (some may not have any files in them, so you
can skip these), including the Calendar folder which has
further sub-folders, and select all the files in each
sub-directory. Next, right click on each of the selected
files and select 'Properties'. Last, you will need to
un-check the read-only box in each of these selected files
properties and click 'ok'. Next time you back up your
data, if possible, use a Zip drive to do the backup; do
not back your data up onto a CDR or CD-Rom.

| QUESTION: |
When I open up my PC Coach
program I have noticed that the text on some of the screens
is cut off and unreadable. Is there a fix?
|
| ANSWER: |
Most likely this is due to your
font size selection in your Windows Settings. First, close
out of PC Coach. Then, most users would fix this by choosing
'My Computer' on your Desktop, then choose Control Panel
/ Display / Settings and click on 'advanced'. Change your
font size to normal or small and save/apply your changes.
You should be able to see all the text next time you open
up PC Coach.

| QUESTION: |
Can I use PC Coach and
the coaching plug-ins without a heart rate monitor that
does not download or without an HRM?
|
| ANSWER: |
Yes, you can use any heart rate monitor
with the PC Coach program. In addition, some of the PC
Coach training plans do not even require a heart rate
monitor. You can manually enter any heart rate data you
want to retain and track into PC Coach. Without an HRM,
you can use perceived exertion to follow the coaching
recommendations for your target heart rate zone. The benefits
of using a downloadable HRM include a detailed graphical
analysis of your workout that can include heart rate,
interval & lap data, recovery details, speed, distance
and cadence - all of this at the push of a button.

|
| QUESTION: |
I went into Edit/User
Preferences and adjusted my heart rate ranges for Intensity
zones but the new workouts on my calendar do not appear
affected by my changes. Why?
|
| ANSWER: |
If you are using one of the PC Coach
Training Plans (Cycling, Triathlon, Running) the answers
you gave your coach in the interview and update interview
process are what drives your intensity zones. When using
a plan, your User Preference Intensity Zones are not effective,
as your coaching plan will override them. When you do
not have a plan 'active,' the User Preference Intensity
Zones are effective.
