The Plan
In this plan, Arturo, and his coach Tadeusz
Kepka use information about your goal time and pace to create a
plan designed to guide you to a 10K PR. The plan consists of 9 weeks
of workouts, tailored to your ability and your level of fitness.
The plan dynamically adjusts to you based on your goal time for
the 10k. Your schedule will include eight weeks of structured workouts
and one week of taper designed to keep you progressing towards your
goal. The plan changes slightly every two weeks, gradually focusing
on the interval and fartlek workouts so you peak for your
10k.
This plan can be repeated several times
in one season, with a faster goal time for each race. The workout
recommendations will change - based on your goal time for the
10k. Included is an on-line training booklet that includes training
tips from Arturo, and describes the workouts and plan's philosophy.

Intended
Audience
This plan is suited for runners who are already
running regularly, and whose goal time is between 35 minutes and
60 minutes for the 10K. It will assist you in creating a detailed
training schedule for the final 9 weeks before your race - designed
to help you peak on race day. |

Plan Philosophy
Arturo's plan is designed to stress the
importance of the workout duration. For each workout, a duration,
pace, and distance is recommended. The plan workouts include:
relaxed runs, steady runs, interval workouts, and fartleks.
Arturo's plan can be used over and over for
each 10k you run - the recommended workouts will change depending
on your goal time and pace. Arturo's program keeps you motivated
by telling you exactly which workout to perform on each day leading
up to your race!
