Appendix - commonly used term in PC Coach
There are several ways to view your workout data in PC Coach.

Workouts
PC Coach uses a "workout" model for storing data. A workout stores data such as distance, time, pace, speed, average heart rate and more. What data is stored will depend on the type of workout. For example, a cycling workout would store cadence data, while a swimming workout would not. Workouts are a thorough description of your exercise. Workouts can have heart rate data attached to them. In the example below Sunday May 19, 2002 displays a planned long cycling ride.

You can schedule workouts by: using a PC Coach Coaching Plug-In and starting a training plan, double-clicking on a day on the PC Coach calendar and choosing a workout to schedule, or by choosing "Select a workout to schedule…" when you are saving imported data.

Imported Data
Data brought into PC Coach from existing .HRM files will appear on the calendar as "Imported Data."

Similarly, any data that you download from your Polar downloadable monitor will appear on the calendar as "Imported Data." To associate this heart rate data with a workout type, attach it to a workout (as described earlier in this document).

Training Plans
In PC Coach a "Training Plan" is any of our Coaching Plug-Ins. A Coaching Plug-In is a module that uses the PC Coach calendar format, reporting and other features and creates a customizing training schedule for a specific event. Coaching Plug-Ins include plans for cycling, triathlon and running. Training plans schedule workouts on your calendar for you, based on your training history and goals.

Downloading
Downloading is simply when you transfer workout data from a Polar heart rate monitor to PC Coach.

Uploading
Uploading is when you transfer data - workouts, bicycle setup data, user information - from PC Coach to a Polar heart rate monitor.

Heart Rate Profile
A heart rate profile is a graph of an individual workout. With the advent of the new Polar heart rate monitors (S510, S710) the heart rate profile may include data for speed, cadence and altitude.

Reports
Reports in PC Coach are graphs used for long-term analysis. As opposed to the Heart Rate Profile, which shows data from one specific workout, a report is a graph of several workouts over a period of calendar time. For example, you may want to graph your average speed for all of your cycling workouts over the course of a month.
