| Our Expanded Mission - Part One: New Products and a Reviews Section on the PC Coach Website | |
In the past we have talked about (and sold) only heart monitors that PC Coach is compatible with. Things are changing fast in the market however, and the best choice for you might be a different model. In phase I of our new mission, we have added three new brands to our store, and a product review section to our site. Our goal is to help you understand the growing selection of technical training tools and help you determine which one is best for your needs. And of course, we are working to make PC Coach compatible with these new models. The new Product Reviews section of our website offers 1-minute, 5-minute and in-depth reviews, and comparative (head-to-head) reviews of the heart rate monitors, speed and distance monitors, and GPS units that we offer in our store. Learn more about our new Product Reviews Section. |

| Gear for Your Other Gear | |
We review and compare the Polar S625X, the Suunto t6, and the Garmin Forerunner 305 and Edge 305 to see how they line up for interval training workouts. "Typically, the most complicated problem for training electronics gear is interval training. It requires some way to alert the user that it is time for the next segment and a way to alert the user that they are going too fast or too slow. It should know the duration or distance of each segment, with extra points if it supports more complex arrangements. This translates to a feature list with multiple timers, odometers, zones, alarms or limits, depending on the company and their approach." Read the article to see how they rate! |

| The Hidden Interval Training Feature in the Polar RS200sd | |
The Polar RS200sd heart rate monitor and speed + distance monitor has made an impressive showing next to its big brother the S625X. We published a review of the RS200sd in an earlier newsletter and then followed that up with an article on the increased compatibility and the additional graphing features for the RS200sd available in PC Coach version 4.6.1. This month, read about The Hidden Interval Training Feature in the Polar RS200sd. "... Here is a hidden feature that greatly expands the usability of this surprising little monitor, especially for interval training. The RS200sd has an interval training mode, and combined with PC Coach’s unique ability to show a graph of lap data, it can be used to help you do some standard interval workouts and view them on your computer.
