Mark Montague completes his first Ironman one hour ahead of
his goal! |
 |
Mark Montague
is a 15-year veteran of triathlons whose dream was to
complete an Ironman. After completing six half-Ironman
races and turning 40, he felt he was ready to take on
the challenge. Mark signed up for the inaugural Ironman
Wisconsin, which was held in September, 2002. Using
PC Coach with Mike Pigg's Triathlon training plan and
a heart rate monitor, Mark started his aerobic base
training in Janurary. That spring, his training included
three century ride events and a half-Ironman, and Mark
credits the program for helping him achieve PR's in
both events.
|
Then on
September 15, Mark completed his first Ironman a full
hour ahead of his goal time and finished 1107 out of
2000 competitors in what was deemed by the race winner
as one of the toughest bike-run combination courses
on the Ironman circuit.

|
| When Mark told
us of his results, we asked him if we could share
his story with our other customers. His response
|
|
| "Absolutely
share it! If others can experience what I did
as a result of a great training program like PC
Coach and methods by Mike Pigg and Dr. Maffetone,
then even better." |
| This year,
Mark's race schedule includes a couple of marathons,
a couple of triathlons, an all-day adventure race,
and a couple of century rides including a 104-mile
assault on Mt. Mitchell in Spartanburg, SC. |
| The
last 28 miles climb to the top of the mountain
above the clouds! You can also look for Mark at
the 100-mile Tour de Cure this weekend (April
26th). Last year, using the PC Coach Triathlon
training program, Mark was the first finisher
out of 400+ riders! |
|
| "Thanks
to PC Coach, Mike Pigg and Dr. Maffetone for their training
and eating techniques. You took me there and beyond!"
